Clough Property Group has commenced work on adding showrooms to the Southern River Shopping Centre only months after the shopping centre being completed.
The recently opened shopping centre is anchored by a Coles Supermarket and 16 Specialty Shops was leased by Lease Equity and Clough are now confident in attracting major bulky good retailers for the showroom development.
Recent additions to the shopping centre include a Coles Express and Buggles Childcare. Both have been quick to secure a site within the development and between them have committed to more than 4,000sqm of space.
The bulky goods development comprises 4000m² made up of tenancies ranging from 100 – 2000m².
Lease Equity Leasing Executive Adam Musbah said. “interest in the showrooms is expected to be strong from retailers wanting to capitalise on the strong growth in the area.” Growth through the area is coming from release of nearby residential land subdivision of McTaggets, Glenariff Estate and Stockland’s Virtue and New Haven Estates, between them comprising of over 3,000 lots.
The shopping centre, child care centre, service station and adjoining showrooms will become a major attraction which is expected to draw from beyond the primary catchment Musbah added. The entire development will cost approximately $25 million dollars and will form part of the diverse property developments undertaken by Clough in Western Australia. The property has already been sold to Elderslie by Lease Equity.
